It's time to grow a mo, again

I am donning the sweatband for the month of Movember for the Movember Foundation Australia campaign "MOVE". If everyone MOVEd that bit more, our physical and mental health would be that bit better.

A cause pretty close to me after seeing my dad go silently through his ailments, I'm all for encouraging the men in my life to have conversations about their health, and get MOVE-ing.

I'd love to steal your millions, but will settle for a couple-a-$, so if you can spare a few to assist in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and physical inactivity programs, please drop by http://mosista.co/janemoran

WPA Pilot Program Think.Act.Play

I was very pleased to see this kind of initiative implemented in water polo, and am excited about the feedback, and the returns. A slight feature of yours truly in one of the posters below :)

International Women's Forum 2015 Conference

I would like to share with you all a program I applied for and was accepted into last year - the International Women's Forum (IWF) Women Athletes' Business Network, partnered with EY. Some information can be found here http://iwforum.org/programs/wabn/

Essentially I am one of 25 retired athletes that is in business (any sort of business) worldwide, and have been 'matched' with an existing IWF member. The mentor assigned to me is Helen Rule, a very impressive women who is now the President and CEO of Imatech which is "innovative industrial solutions...in the mining and minerals processing industry". Helen has extended her network to me, and has included in our mentoring program Patricia Twaalfhoven, Principal Manager of North West Rail Link. I have met with my mentors once, and teleconferenced twice so far this year. I come out of each mentoring meeting with a very comprehensive list of action items relating to my personal and professional goals both within and external to Aurecon.

I have just received fantastic news that I have been invited to attend the International Women’s Forum Leadership Development Seminar for Women Athletes’ Business Network in Boston, USA in October. I will absolutely be attending (travel, accommodation and the conference kindly sponsored by EY and contributions from members of the IWF) and can’t wait to meet the 24 other mentees and the IWF network
